The Virginia Happy Trails Running Club puts on several excellent training runs for the Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 race held in May. The Martin Luther King weekend was the first of the fat ass events. It was a warm, cold, sunny, snowy, foggy weekend to run!
The Virginia Happy Trails Fourth of July Trifecta continues…
An epic weekend – three days of playing on the mountain trails of the Shenandoahs. Here are a few of the sights!
The Wild Oak Trail…a 27 mile loop with 8000 feet of climbing. My favorite trail to play on.
Scenes from a wet, cold, windy and fun January day.
Devils Postpile National Monument is near Mammoth Mountain, California. An extraordinary example of columnar basalt, it was formed less than 100,000 years ago when cooling lava flow cracked into multi-sided columns. The symmetry in this rock structure is truly amazing. A beautiful trail that leads to a breathtaking view.
Here is a slideshow of beautiful trail from the 33rd annual Laurel Highlands Ultra in Pennsylvania. This 70.5 mile trail race was challenging, rocky, gorgeous, technical, rooty, fabulous, ferny, magical, frustrating, rocky, hilly, spectacular, and FUN. I took a few photos on trail – enjoy!
